Watch Obama's End of Combat Operations in Iraq Speech 8/31/10

My Thoughts:

*Not surprised within first 2 minutes blame Bush came out.

*Didn't like the apologetic tone to the start

*Insincere thanks to the troops

*Admitted this was a campaign political promise point scored.

*Even though this is the end of combat operations, we still have 50,000 troops there. He declared they will all be home by the end of next year. We will see about that.

*Referred to this event of "turn of a page"

*Made a dangerous divisive point about "patriots who supported the war" and "patriots who didn't support the war."

*One thing I did like is towards the end was that he mentioned that the soldiers did their part for America and now it is time for the rest of America for you to do your part at home. But what discourages me about this, is that no one cares and was listening. This news did not make it to the water cooler this week and three days after the speech, when I check the view count on Youtube to see how many people actually viewed the complete speech: part I: 5,310 and part II: 3,710

*Yes he gave some props to the troops but remember this is the same guy who disrespect the flag and protested in 2007 about not wearing an American Flag or Yellow Ribbon on his lapel,  click here for video
